BROTHER ROSS SMITH PASSES
OBITUARY
Ross Milton Smith, of Delhi township passed away on Nov 6, 2023 at the age of 91.
He was born March 22, 1932 to Ross Smith and Gertrude (Worth) Smith in Sayler Park. Ross graduated Western Hills High School with the class of 1951 and went on to Miami University until he received the call to serve his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He met his future wife, Joyce Strunk, on a blind date and they married November 20, 1965. They were blessed with one daughter Jodee.
Ross was an Auto Racer and traveled all over the country. Racing different classes everynight at races. Lawrenceburg Speedway, being his home turf, is where he started racing at age 16. In his spare time if he wasn’t racing he was watching races. However he also enjoyed traveling with his family, and weekend pool parties where there were always many laughs and stories to be told… and retold. Ross was also a 50-year member of the Western Hills Cheviot Masonic Lodge #140.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Joyce Smith; beloved daughter: Jodee (Ronald “Smokey”) Hebert; and his true joys, his granddaughters: Jaimee and Kailee Hebert.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Elizabeth Ann (Cliff) Dornett and Virginia (Clyde) Trammell.
Gathering of friends will be on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Glen Carder Lodge, 5125 Foley Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45238 from 2 pm to 4 pm with a Masonic Service starting at 2:30 pm followed by words of remembrance with food, drinks and many laughs and stories to be shared about Ross.
